BERLINYour Own Voice23.–27. November 2015 I Walli Höfinger & Christiane Hommelsheim

YOUR OWN VOICE ON THE THRESHOLD TO MUSIC
23.–27. November 2015
A Voice Workshop
with Walli HÖFINGER & Christiane HOMMELSHEIM
Number of participants: 12

In this workshop we will focus on recapturing “music”, out of the hands of the specialists of form and culture, trusting your intuitive competence in music, making it your own, finding your own sense of music, beyond virtuosity and style. You will have the opportunity to explore what “music” means within your voice, and how to allow your own music to emerge.
The workshop will include deep physical and vocal preparation, individual lessons and group improvisation, where we will play with the connection of voice and body and voice and perception. We will move into new territory of our voices beyond the areas that we are habitually using, and enjoy the pleasure of singing together! This workshop is open to all.

BOSTONThe Un-boundaried VoiceAugust 29 – 30 2015 I Marya Lowry & Phil Timberlake

Roy Hart Voice Workshop
The Un-boundaried Voice.
Deeply Imagine. Fully Embodied.

with Marya Lowry and Phil Timberlake
August 29 & 30, 11a – 6p, Saturday and Sunday, Boston

Join us as we gather to explore and celebrate “extended” voice work: the range of possibilities of the whole voice. Supported by breath, body engagement and emotional energy, we will search for each individual’s unique vocal expression from the subtle to the extravagant, the heights to the depths, and the dark to the light. By connecting body and imagination to vocal impulses, we will explore the voice as a literal and metaphorical instrument of self-discovery, self-expression, and artistic application.

The Workshop

  • physical work to deepen body/breath connection and awaken and inspire the body to give voice
  • specific pathways to extended range, color and timbre
  • wake up new vocal possibilities and delve deeper into your personal practice
  • improvisational vocal explorations
  • personal pathways to voice, text and song
  • group and individual work
  • Roy Hart piano work: the time-honored vocal journeying to expanded physical, vocal and imaginative expression
  • Whether you use your voice as a professional actor, singer, public speaker, in therapeutic work or for the pure joy of your vocal expression you will emerge from the weekend with renewed resources to enrich your practice and enlarge your performance. This training weekend is open to all levels and is limited to 16 participants.
